Printed Wool
In the Netherlands, wool is unfortunately a forgotten material often burned on a large scale. While researching alternatives, I discovered the potential of combining wool with printer’s ink. The ink I used comes from a historical printer’s museum in Tilburg,
I began dyeing the wool using this ink, and due to its natural density, parts of the wool resisted the dye. This created a beautiful, almost marble-like effect. The process not only transformed the wool visually, but also subtly strengthened it.
The result is a material that can be used as a decorative wall piece or even as a room divider giving new life and purpose to our own Dutch wool.
