A special edition of Maat der dingen was created to mark the 450th anniversary of the Haagse Bos.
Imprint Stones Former Mercury Mine
A collaboration with nature through the anthotype process. Using turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon, stones from a former mercury mine in Idrija become co-creators, shaping the final images and revealing a silent dialogue between artist and earth.

Tsuba
Inspired by The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben
Tsuba explores how invisible boundaries can be made visible. It creates a space of respectful distance, inviting awareness rather than exclusion, where the boundary becomes a gesture of care.

Rings written from words may not seem readable at first, just as we have forgotten how to understand nature’s call. By opening up to new ways of understanding, a connection with the world around us can emerge.
Here, nature becomes the measure of all things.

Between Vapour and Pollen
Where bees hum and mines echo, a fragile balance between labour and care emerges. In Idrija, where mercury has been mined since 1490, workers moved between harsh underground labour and beekeeping. Revealing who they were beyond the mine: their care, their connection to nature, and their lives between two worlds.
Nature’s Monument
Dead wood is often misunderstood, yet it is full of life. What seems like forest waste is in fact a vital, living network. Fallen trees are not endings, but beginnings. Some organisms can only thrive once a tree has died.
In Nature’s Monument, I honour dead wood as sacred matter an often overlooked source of biodiversity and life.
Dood hout zit vol leven.
