Hooked on Groceries
Hooked on Groceries is a one-minute film that offers viewers a glimpse into the surprising range of products made from fish. Much like the well-known project Pig 05049, which traced the many uses of a single animal, this film explores how fish are transformed into items far beyond what most people associate with seafood or meat. Through this short film, I wanted to highlight everyday products that contain fish-derived ingredients some of which may come as a surprise.
The aim of Hooked on Groceries is to spark a deeper awareness of the ocean and rivers, and their significance, not only for those who consume fish, but for everyone who may unknowingly rely on fish-based products. It poses important questions about the value of a product and its origin. Cause how can we truly appreciate something if we don’t know where it came from? By learning about the source and purpose of these materials we can better protect them and make more conscious choices.
