Between Vapour and Pollen

Where bees hum and mines echo, a fragile balance between labour and care emerges

In Idrija, where the earth has yielded mercury since 1490, men once descended daily into darkness. Below ground, they carried the weight of stone, metal, and toxic air. Above ground, some turned to gentler work, they became beekeepers.

This installation reveals who these men were beyond the mine: their care, their connection to nature, and their lives between two worlds.

Vapour and pollen ; labour and care. It reflects on what it means to find softness and lightness within even the most industrial landscapes.
